Jessica Allen, a 3-year-old lady from California went for a vitro fertilization in 2016 and agreed to become the surrogate mother for a Chinese couple for a sum of $30,000. California is the few states of U.S. where surrogacy is legal with paid commercial programs.
Jessica was told by the doctors that she is actually carrying two babies after the 6th week of her pregnancy in one early pregnancy scan report. Her payment increased by $5,000. Leaving behind the doctors and surrogated agencies astonished about the second baby in her womb.

She went for a cesarean delivery in the month of December that year. After a month she received a photograph of the twins with a message from the Chinese couple stating that,
“They are not the same, right? Have you thought about why they are different?”
Jessica in an interview states that, “I did notice that one was much lighter than the other, you know, obviously they were not identical twins.”
With all suspicion, doctors performed a DNA test on the two children and the result was really shocking. One was Allen’s biological child while another was that of the Chinese couple.
According to the doctors, the phenomenon is known as “superfetation” where the body continued to ovulate, releasing an egg that managed to become fertilized even after the pregnancy. It is very rarest of rare case and practitioners know very little like how and why it happened.
Both the children are healthy and fit. While Jessica and her partner adopted one child legally the other one is with the Chinese Couple.
