Last year, a man named Sasha Eliasson died twice and lives to tell us all about it. The first incident was due to a horrible motorcycle accident which caused his body to shut down. Several months later, he died during surgery.
In both events, doctors revived him after 2 minutes of clinical death. Viewers were fascinated when they read his story. In fact, 500,000 viewers read the story.
Eliasson shared something with Reddit,
“When you’re dead, that’s it. It’s over. There is not light at the end of the tunnel, there is only blackness.”
Controversy arose from his words. After his claim, that there was no afterlife, Eliasson was faced with heavy criticism concerning his words. Some said that he was looking in the wrong direction while others claimed that God knew Eliasson wasn’t about to die, and so he was given no visions of the afterlife.
Eliasson claimed that he only wanted to share his personal experience and answer questions. He never meant to spark religious controversy and make people defensive. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what he did. Some people even told him that he would go to hell for what he said.
Many people also said that Eliasson deserved to die because of his view on what he didn’t see. To Eliasson, this means more than just having problems with certain people and their beliefs, the real problem is the emphasis put on religion today. The way we see religion in the real problem.
But he is glad the conversation happened, because his experience and claims have opened up a new topic of importance to the human race.
Eliasson said,
“People need their beliefs challenged. People need the courage to second guess things and find the truth in life.”
