Waste management is one of the biggest problems faced by humankind in the modern day. One would think that this would make us more conscious about it. While it is true for some part of the population, there is still a major part of the population that lives without a care.
They do not make any effort to generate less waste or at least be responsible for the disposal of waste, and this video is an example of such people.
The video starts with someone inside in a van throwing out a plastic cup right on the road and then driving away like it was nothing.
Not all heroes wear capes
The video was recorded by a biker who taught this person a lesson and fortunately had a video camera with him and recorded everything. As the person was driving away, having done what he or she had, the biker went forward, picked up the cup, kept it with him and decided to follow the van to make sure they understood what they have done was wrong.
It was no short distance that the biker had to follow them for but after a considerable amount of time, the van stopped and he managed to get in front of it and once he did, he got down, walked to the van and kept the cup on the windshield of the van, smiled and walked away.
Nothing happened after that because the people in the van were probably too embarrassed to get out of the car and even the biker calmly got back on his bike and drove away.
Seeing the bigger picture
This may seem like a small incident but the impact that it has on people is very deep. We have much to learn from the biker and even though we do not think it is a very big deal when we fling trash on to the road the consequences are graver than we can possibly imagine.
The number of issues that overpopulation has caused and made worse is unbelievable yet most of us seem to not care about this at all. We are living in a world that needs our immediate help and awareness and to be very honest if we want to keep living here, we ought to give it that.
The amount of trash generated by people all over the world is insane and therefore it is important to try to use recyclable stuff and if not, we at least have to understand that different types of waste need to be managed differently.
It will take time, but if a large number of people vow to bring change, it will happen. People have to be more sincere and understand the civic responsibilities that we all have, bar none. The Earth is home to all of us, it is our responsibility to protect it from everything, especially stuff that is basically our fault. Let us get up and get on to make these changes.
