Mark Divine, Navy Seal instructor and martial arts expert say that mental health is more important than any physical ability you may possess. But how do we increase our mental power and will? Mark has given 4 strategies to boosting mental toughness:
1. Focus on yourself first
To strengthen yourself, you first need to know what you need. And the best way to find is that is self-awareness. Mark advises maintaining a diary or 10 minutes of relaxing exercise. This will help you to analyze who you are and what you want. But to ensure full benefit you must make them your habit.
2. Figure out your purpose
Listen to your intuition. It’s a small voice inside you that guides you. If there’s doubt in it, you are going wrong. But if it’s supporting you, you know that this is where you are supposed to be. Don’t let others misguide you according to themselves because you have a specific purpose. And to know the purpose, ask yourself, “If you had only one year left of your life, what would you do?” This is what you actually want.
3. Determine your path
Don’t live your life according to others. Take their views into consideration but don’t let them make decisions of your life.Connect with your true self to know about yourself – who you really are when you are not into societal or any kind of pressure. That is when you’ll realize what’s best for you.
4. Support your new purpose with a healthy lifestyle and support others.
Once you have realized what you want and what you are here for, you can start to implement changes in your life to set course in the right direction. Forget everything else and focus your energy to achieve your goals. Mark says that spend more time with people with similar interests as you. This will keep you recharged and motivated.
