Vice President’s new Washington neighbours are welcoming him to their neighbourhood in startling fashion with gay-pride flags.
Many in the neighbourhood (and nation) are largely bemused and shocked by Mike Pence‘s anti-gay views and they want to show him where they stand.
Mike Pence is living in a transition house in Washington until he moves into the Oval Office in January.
Pence had previously signed a law that would sanction discrimination against gay people for “religious-objections”.
Isla Heintzen is one of Pence’s neighbours and has said that he doesn’t really know what Pence will think about the gay pride flags but he hopes that it will change his mind.
According to reports, Pence’s temporary residence – which includes five bedrooms – has a monthly rental price of $6,000.
Pence’s team have not yet reacted to these actions from the neighbourhood, but it’s sure to be weighing on Pence’s mind as he will see the flags every single day.
