If you’re like me, vacations are the one thing I look forward to during the year. It’s the only reason I put the hours in at work. As I’m constantly on the go, having a vacation at the end of the year is just what I need to destress, relax and let the good times roll.
However, I’m young and busy, so cost and time is an issue. However, rather than changing the time of year that I travel, I’ve actually found that traveling during the holidays is perfect.
Here’s why:
1. It’s cheaper.
Hotels and resorts lower their prices for the “off-season” by the time the holidays come around. They literally halve their prices. For example, I traveled to London on Thanksgiving and found that the price for flights and hotels were 50% lower than it was in August. So during Christmas, make sure to book your flights the day or week before Christmas.
2. Forget holiday drama.
When you’re young, you can choose between your family or friends to spend the holidays with. So why not avoid whichever one will be more likely to cause drama? It’ll save you a whole lot of hassles.
3. Leave decorating behind.
Decorating can be time consuming and annoying. By going on holiday, you can use your time for better things. You know, like having fun.
4. Experience new things.
When we experience new cultures, food, and people, we open our minds to new possibilities that we might have never explored. This is how we grow.
5. You can take less time off work.
Most people are given the major holidays off, so if you take your days off on the holidays, then you’re saving days you can take off another time during the year.
