While we are engaged in social-distancing and self-lockdowns, nature takes back its reign on Earth.
The pollution is going down and hitting record lows, and it seems animals are quite shocked that they finally have the world to themselves. You might have seen how animals are slowly coming onto roads and enjoying the calm human-less world.
Dolphins have been spotted on the Italian coasts as well. Nitrogen Dioxide pollution has hit a record low with the lockdown of factories and their spewing of deadly pollutants into the sky. Even elephants can finally get drunk without a worry!
Yep, that’s what took place as per the Facebook page of Epicalyptic. About 14 elephants entered the Yunan village in China searching for food. They were quite surprised to see that there were no humans to stop them. And so, they went a bit wild.
The elephants came across 30 kgs of corn wine, and they consumed all of it to their heart’s content. Well, who leaves out wine after all!
And what do you think happened next?
The elephants were drunk, and they dozed off at a tea garden nearby. Their faces had a cute little smile as they ventured into their drunken dream world.
While this seems quite a happy sight during this bleak time, it still shows that as humans, we have to do a lot more than just social distancing. Habitat destruction brought these elephants into human civilization in the first place. We must plant more and more trees and stop human-motivated expansion projects that destroy habitats.
