Fluoride is a substance that we find in endless amounts of products in modern society, like toothpaste or non-stick pans. It is a substance that affects the functioning of the brain and slows down one’s ability to think. Now, a new and hopeful research proves that curcumin stops fluoride and its troubling effects.
A Research entitled “Curcumin attenuates neurotoxicity induced by fluoride: An in vivo evidence,” published by Pharmacognosy Magazine, proves both the effects of fluoride and the beneficial counter effect of the spice curcumin. It states:
“Fluoride (F) is probably the first inorganic ion which draws the attention of the scientific world for its toxic effects. Health effect reports on F exposure also include various cancers, adverse reproductive activities, cardiovascular and neurological diseases.”

Based on this observation, the experiments went on to test how a combination of fluoride with curcumin can counter these problems. They tested groups that had no intake of fluoride versus groups that had, and then groups that had the combination of curcumin with fluoride than just fluoride. The result shows that the effects of fluoride are very strong, curcumin could work against them. The researchers explained:
“Our study thus demonstrate that daily single dose of 120 ppm F results in highly significant increases in the LPO [lipid peroxidation, i.e. brain rancidity] as well as neurodegenerative changes in neuron cell bodies of selected hippocampal regions. Supplementation with curcumin significantly reduces the toxic effect of F to near normal level by augmenting the antioxidant defense. Through its scavenging property and provide an evidence of having a therapeutic role against oxidative stress-mediated neurodegeneration.”
Therefore, if you want to take care of yourself and prevent the intake of fluoride, curcumin should be a priority.
