If you are reading this article, then there is a good chance you already know who an Empath is. Empaths are people who can feel the emotions of others, not just observe them. An Empath doesn’t need to be told things; he/she can easily know what’s going on in the minds of other people as soon as they walk into a room. They would know which one is genuinely happy and which is faking joviality for the sake of something else.
Obviously, Empaths would know it instantly if someone is dishonest with them. Because they can sense the emotions of the person in front of them. Thereby don’t have to take his/her words on their face value. You’d think this kind of superpower is a great gift because it sounds like the next best thing to completely reading the minds of others. But it is a mixed blessing, and sometimes indeed, a curse.
A curse because unless they learn to handle it correctly, their extreme sensitivity makes it very hard for Empaths to be around a huge group of people, their sense get overwhelmed and they drain themselves too quickly. And even when they do learn to have better control, they can’t simply call out a liar because they know that he/she is. It can be frustrating to know something, beyond the shadow of a doubt and yet be unable to provide empirical proof for the same.
Empaths are just like other people and they too have their good days and bad. They go through the same emotions as us, happiness, sadness, joy; just a bit more intensely perhaps. That is why they avoid the company of toxic people and would rather conserve their energy by being around peaceful people. And they heal those who need healing because they understand their pain as if it’s their own.
If you know an Empath, you should know that there are some things which just can’t remain hidden.
Intentions
You just cannot approach an empath with an innocent face while in reality, a diabolical scheme is running through your mind. They can see through your appearance and would know about your real intent, sooner rather than later.
Facades
They empathize with others which means that they feel the emotions which another is going through. It is not difficult for them to detect dishonesty. And once they do, they wouldn’t waste their energies on such people for even one moment.
Insincerity
They would rather have the bitter truth, instead of a sugarcoated lie. They will never appreciate a gift unless and until you really mean it.
