After a seemingly normal conversation about music, Ben Miller, a 22 year-old waiter – has received the gift of a lifetime.
Ben Millar had been having a conversation about U2 when the Customer told him that he had just been to Ireland to see the band perform. Ben innocently said “Wow, I wish I could go back there for a weekend and visit my family”.
This was just a normal throwaway line Ben thought nothing of.
You see, Ben works in the US but his 21-year old girlfriend, Taryn Keith, is pregnant living in Ireland.
So when the customer paid his bill and left his tip, Ben couldn’t believe his eyes.
Taryn posted a photo of the tip that featured a special note from customer himself. The total meal cost $120 and the customer decided to leave a $750 tip so he “get back to Ireland for the holidays”.
They decided to broadcast this message to show that there wasn’t only “hate out there” and that kindness still exists.
Thanks to this generous act, it looks as if Ben will be able to spend the holidays with his family. It’s great to know that kind people still exist in a world that sometimes feels like it’s going mad.
