A family have gone viral on the internet as they celebrated adopting two children with heartwarming photos posted on Twitter.
This took place at the same time the election was on, and provided some much-needed love and kindness as people were anxiously awaiting the results.
The Scudder family live in California and spent Tuesday organizing the adoption. Kylie, now the older sister of Veronica and Preston after the adoption, posted heartwarming photos of Veronica and Preston smiling with joy on Twitter.
In the tweet, she said ‘Today, we officially adopted my little brother and sister. I’m so emotional right now! Welcome to the family, Veronica and Preston.’
One of the most emotional photos is a sign of Veronica holding a sign saying “I spent 1171 days in Foster Care and today, November 8, 2016 I was adopted!”
This sparked the Internet with love as her tweet was shared more than 14,000 times and liked by over 40,000 Twitter users.
Many users on Twitter responded saying how heartwarming this moment is and how it is a welcome distraction on election day.
Twitter user Hannah Tysonn wrote: “I’m adopted from a rough life…I can’t imagine how happy those kids.”
Kylie said that her Mum and Dad wanted to have more children but they can’t because of biological reasons.
They have three biological daughters and wanted to adopt Veronica last year. Then they found out that Veronica had a little brother, Preston and without hesitation they said yes to adopting both.
They said that their community neighbourhood has been great in welcoming Preston and Veronica by offering gifts and emotional support.
Kylie went to Facebook to explain that it hasn’t been exactly smooth sailing having two extra people in the house but that it was totally worth it.
Something badly wrong with the system when these two beautiful children have had to spend so long being fostered. There must be thousands of people desperate to,adopt our little ones who are in care.
