What is the perfect house? Is it one on wood poles? Is it one which is nestled in the woods? Or one that is Victorian? Or one that has all the modern amenities? Well, the concept of perfection is subjective to the individual and while some may be decidedly weird, it is still their own opinion and we need to respect that. And yet, there are some unusual houses which can only be thought of in our imagination.
Here are 8 unusual houses that might make you blink and wonder what led to them being built. If you like any, leave a comment.
1. Transparent
This might be interesting for governments to try out in their policies, but like a house, it might not be the best. Remember the adage, ‘people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones at others.’ Although it does look innovative, you won’t be receiving any privacy.
2. Water Tower House
We have heard of a water bed, but here comes the water house. This is basically a water tower with no water. Wonder if it is legal to live here.
3. Slides
Imagine your house with slides. No stairs, no elevated platforms, simply slide. You slip and slide through the crevices in your house. This might be every kid’s dream but it would be a huge problem dragging your couch up the slide. Get a couch with wheels, maybe!
4. Flintstones
Fred would be proud of you. This house is entirely built of stones, giving it an archaic feel. But the stones might lead to the house getting either very warm or very cold, depending on the weather outside. Yet, you can boast that you live in a stone house. Hobbit, maybe?
5. Boulder
It doesn’t get weirder than this. A house made of boulders would simply shield itself from any form of natural event. Unless it is on a slope and there is an earthquake. Then you get the ride of your life.
6. Seashell
You might want to live like an oyster. Perfectly acceptable. But this house does look cool and a bit enchanting. To make it cooler, have the doors clam up when closed, to get the feeling of residing in a real shell.
7. Church
Can’t blame people for wanting to live with their God. But this close? Usually, people live in monasteries when they want to worship their lord, but this certainly does take the cake. Also, it might actually be legal, for the church accepts everyone.
8. A 3ft Long House
Okay. This is congested and very uncomfortable. A 3ft longhouse isn’t fit for living. It is claustrophobic and made of glass. Why would anyone want to ever live in a house like that?
There are all forms of residence one can avail if one has the money and time for that. But what is needed is that a house can only be home if there are people living underneath it as a family. A tightly knit group of people. For home is where the heart lies!
