1. You are always thirsty.
Because your kidneys are not able to process the excessive glucose in your blood, they flush it out in the form of urine. This dehydrates your body and you feel thirsty all the time.
2. You are also hungrier than ever before.
If you notice a sudden increase in your appetite, it can be another visible side effect if increased sugar in your blood. Your body builds up insulin resistance which hampers the conversion of food into energy in the body. Hence, your body feels the need to eat more food than before.
3. Urge to pee frequently.
Remember the first point. Increased sugar in your blood means that you need to pee a lot more. So if you find yourself making many more trips to the bathroom than you are used to, you need to take notice.
4. Being tired all the time.
Even though we associate glucose with energy, it is not necessarily the case when this excess glucose is in your body. Because of the points explained before, you feel tired all the time. Chronic fatigue is another negative effect of high blood sugar.
5. Blurred vision.

6. Your skin has turned dry over time.

7. The impotence of men.
A male erection depends on the flow of blood from other parts of the body to the penis. An increased amount of sugar in the blood disrupts this flow.
8. Increase in body weight.
Being insulin resistant will cause you to gain weight even if you might not be eating that much.
