In the world of fake and pretentious people, it gets very hard, finding someone who would be real, authentic and a good man. Also, there is no point lamenting your fate if you’re strung with a hypocrite.
You need to accept your mistake and make sure that the next time you seek a guy, he manages to be genuine, and not two-faced.
Find a good man for you. But, how to know who is genuine, and who ain’t?
1. Respectful
He gives you the respect you deserve. He isn’t one of those patriarchal buffoons who would consider his gender to be superior to yours, but understands you for the person you are, and respects that. He would never try to put you down and always be a gentleman.
2. Intelligence over Looks
He cares more about the way you think that the way you look. You could be dressed in rags, and yet he would be madly in love with you, for it is your brain that he is interested in. You could look like the fairest maiden that ever was, but he would be waiting for you to say something about philosophy, that would make him fall more for you.
3. Gives more than Wants
He would expect very less from you, but keep on putting in more and more effort into this relationship for that’s the kind of person he is. He would not expect you to remember his birthday or any important date but would be waiting outside your house at midnight with a bouquet of flowers and your favorite cake.
4. Is Accountable
He knows he is not God, and hence prone to mistakes. But he accepts any faults he might have and also repents the mistakes he makes. He would ask for forgiveness with a pure heart and would make sure he doesn’t do it again.
5. Doesn’t Lie
He is a man who would never lie. Anything could happen, you could get angry with him for his bluntness and honesty, but he would never lie. At that moment, you might be pissed, but in hindsight, you would realize what an honest and down to earth guy you are with.
6. Doesn’t Hide His Past
Let’s face it, everyone has a past. We have all done things that we aren’t proud of, and your boyfriend might be one in the lot. But what separates him from the rest, is his open, and transparent nature that would see him keep his history as an open book, with no regrets.
7. Not Pretentious
He doesn’t pretend, because he knows he doesn’t have to. He knows that you like him for the person that he is, and you are proud of him.
