You can work on the level of toxicity that is around you by following these tips.
1. Speak up
Always speak up. You are the only director of your life. If you like or don’t like something, speak up. Be heard and let your opinion be known.
2. Arrogance
Always be confident, but never arrogant.
3. Limit self criticism
Self-awareness and criticism are necessary to make sure you have your feet on the ground but overdoing it is very toxic.
4. Don’t seek validation from others
A little validation from time to time is nice but it does not define you. Be you and do your thing.
5. Stop dwelling on the past
The past is over and done with. Don’t waste your energy and time pondering on the past. It is not worth it.
6. Stop worrying about the future, too
Whatever has to happen, definitely will. You cannot control the future so stop sweating over it and live in the moment.
7. Cheating
Doing something as heinous as cheating will bring negativity into your life. Love your close ones honestly.
8. Lying
Just like the previous point, lying to people you love will fill your life with toxicity.
9. Don’t take everything personally
Learn to take things in your stride and move on from things. Be calm and handle things maturely.
10. Don’t hold grudges
Holding grudges will fill your insides with toxicity. You deserve better than hurt and these negative person. Let things go.
11. Don’t be selfish
Being selfish is the worst way to go about one’s life. Recognise other peoples’ needs and desires too. Make space for them.
12. Don’t ignore self care
You need to take care of yourself first and foremost. At the end of the day, you are the only one for yourself, so treat yourself better.
13. Stop pleasing others
It is absolutely legitimate for you to want to make people you love happy but you must understand the difference between loving people and let them walk all over you.
14. Entitlement
Remember that in life, nobody owes you anything. Shirk off the entitlement and take life head on.
15. Jealousy
Let the pettiness of jealousy go. You will find yourself happier.
16. Stop seeking attention
Attention is fleeting and temporary. Try to be comfortable in your own person and you will find peace.
17. Don’t be too competitive
Despite what everyone says, life is not a competition. Everyone is different and so are their successes and failures.
18. Let go of the cruelty
Once you let the negativity go, you will be truly happy. Try doing it.
19. Don’t play victim
Life is difficult for everyone. It is not a bed of roses for ANYONE. If you play the victim, you will find yourself stagnant and not moving anywhere.
20. Don’t have unrealistic expectations
Life is not always fair. This is a universal truth that you must understand and build your expectations around. Unrealistic expectations only bring heartbreak.
21. Don’t be afraid of changes and new things
A human being only grows once out of their comfort zone. Take risks and live free. Try new things.
