Greenpeace needs no introduction. For over 30 years, the organization gives a multifaceted struggle to prevent and cure the major environmental problems facing on our planet.
Greenpeace – Protecting the natural environment
At international level, Greenpeace strives for permanent cessation of nuclear testing and the use of weapons of mass destruction, the rescue of ancient forests, the implementation of the ban on whaling and the protection of oceans, biodiversity conservation and ban the release of genetically modified organisms in food and the environment, the prohibition of hazardous toxic substances, prevents the climate change and promotes the renewable energy.
Mutants
The Greenpeace opposes the release of GE organisms into the environment because the environmental risks are incalculable and irreversible. Also Greenpeace supports sustainable agriculture as the only solution that ensures clean food crops, protect the soil, the water and the climate, respect the biodiversity and not contaminate the environment with chemicals and GMOs. Thanks to the action of Greenpeace, Greece became the first country in the world that proclaimed “GMO Free Zone.”
Climate Change
Climate change is the greatest environmental, economic and social crisis in the history of mankind. Caused by irrational dependence of states in energy production from the dirty, dangerous and expensive energy sources like coal, oil and nuclear energy. The Greenpeace strives to change the way we produce, consume and perceive energy.
Marine Ecology
The Greenpeace strives to create a network of marine reserves in the Mediterranean, covering 40% of the area and will basically protects marine life and people, in a sustainable manner, depend upon it.
Volunteer at Greenpeace
As a volunteer you can help:
At the office, from 1 time a week to several times a month, helping various parts of the local office of Greenpeace.
In your neighborhood, helping in investigations, promoting the messages of our campaigns and collecting signatures.
In part actions, by making banners, arranging the warehouse, preparing for operations, logistics, and to become an activist and participate in our actions.
In exhibitions, concerts and events where it is present by Greenpeace.
And more, it is sufficient to have imagination and tell us your ideas in Greenpeace, or become a volunteer!
